Di Burns

Di Burns has a successful track record in the UK, South Africa & Australia with major organisations (IBM & PeopleSoft) in key management roles where she worked with clients in utilities, finance, government, manufacturing and professional Services.  Her roles included major, multi-million dollar change projects that required influencing and persuading key stakeholders to agree to participate and deliver critical business results. These projects usually involved pitching for major tenders and business in highly competitive markets with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve aggressive business development targets. 

‘Cross Cultural Coaching’ is one of Di’s areas of specialisation. Certified to run and coach teams and individuals using the ‘Cultural Orientations Framework’ (Rosinski & Co), Di assists in developing powerful alignment and effective utilisation of resources.  Whether it be different divisions of one company, global teams or alliance partners, the framework allows participants to understand the seventeen dimensions they can leverage in their team members, business partners and clients to achieve optimum success. The framework can also assist companies with existing team challenges, where a merger/acquisition has been completed, or to take the business to the next level of performance. The ‘Cultural Orientations Framework’ can also effectively be applied to individuals within the business by identifying Key Focus Areas for their individual coaching programs resulting in a higher degree of success in their role and a more collaborative insightful approach to others they work with. 

Passionate about people uncovering and maximising their potential, Di is currently completing her Master of Business Coaching (MBC) at Sydney Business School (UOW) to underpin her broad coaching experience.

With over three years in Executive Search, Di understands the career development imperatives to ensure retention of high performers – coaching being one of them. Her clients in search and career transition coaching include EMC, Business Objects, Tibco, SAP Partner – Supply Chain, RuleBurst, Oracle, VMware, Xstrata Coal, AWI, Landis & Gyr and Vodafone. 

Di provides Executive Coaching to senior executives, high potential/emerging leaders, sales directors and direct reports. Other applications of coaching include performance coaching, career coaching, first 100 days, and LSI debriefing and coaching for ‘constructive’ behaviours to achieve business success.
