Gill McDonald

Gill McDonald is highly regarded executive coach known for her work with leaders and being able to accelerate their performance to new levels. Using her strong strategic background, recognised coaching abilities and communication skills to assist, Gill takes a pragmatic, whole person approach to coaching. She provides her clients with insights and alternative strategies based on her experience, where appropriate. Gill has over fifteen years experience on executive and senior management teams primarily in the areas of strategy, business development and business management.

Gill has worked extensively in the services arena, predominantly with banks, insurance and superannuation companies. Gill’s extensive knowledge of the professional and financial services arena and her recognised abilities around strategy enable her to quickly navigate issues and facilitate people transformation in complex environments. 

In recent years, her coaching work has extended to team coaching, facilitation of retreats and team building workshops. This is particularly rewarding because the impact for business success can be exponential for the short time invested. Gill has designed and implemented a team-building program for a major business unit of National Australia Bank across Australia with outstanding results. Gill has also been involved in a similar pilot program at Australia Post. Gill is accredited in the powerful iWAM (inventory of work attitudes and motivators) profiling and performance modelling tool. She has used this to create outstanding cohesion, communication and improved performance within leadership teams. 

Gill worked on the merger of two large Australian telecommunications companies, supporting senior managers and executives through coaching as they moved on to new challenges. Gill has also been heavily involved with the Victorian Government’s LINK program, being one of two coaches appointed to work alongside future leaders of Victoria’s hospitals for a one year pilot program. This was a highly successful program and based on results, has been extended to 2011 by the new Victorian Liberal Government.

Gill has also worked with emerging stars in industries such as education and real estate. She is very proud of one client who has developed from being a novice in the real estate environment to being the Real Estate Agent of the Year for Tasmania in 2007 and 2008 and finalist for Australian Residential Real Estate Agent of the Year for two years running.
