Madeleine Shaw is a highly effective executive coach with over 12 years’ legal and commercial experience. As a former lawyer and business affairs executive with extensive experience in private practice, large and small corporate environments and the public sector, she has a unique understanding of the culture in which her clients operate.

Madeleine has received great feedback on the results she gets using coaching tools to help people perform at their best. She is compassionate and empathic whilst retaining an unwavering commitment to results.

Madeleine takes a solutions-focused approach to the coaching conversation. She puts the attention on where her clients want to be, and how they can get there. She works with rigour and respect: rigour to challenge assumptions and beliefs that might be holding her clients back, and respect for their knowledge and expertise.

As a senior corporate counsel and coach with major multinational Vodafone, Madeleine delivered high level leadership development and professional support across the business. Previously, Madeleine was a senior associate with leading firm Allens Arthur Robinson and worked in Silicon Valley with major US firm Shearman & Sterling. She has also produced several short films (including Tropfest finalist Pacific) and was business affairs executive on Ray Lawrence’s highly acclaimed film Jindabyne.

Madeleine’s flexible coaching toolkit and experience in a wide range of working environments means she is ready to adapt to the changing needs of her clients.  Some focus areas that regularly arise are:

  • Senior leaders – providing a confidential sounding board to work through ideas and challenges.
  • New leaders – the transition from technical excellence to leadership excellence requires a different set of skills and management of a higher level of ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Work/life fit – finding a way to focus on what’s important in a way that works for you.
  • Managing change – dealing with a changing environment at work.
  • Specific issues – you may wish to work through particular issues such as management style or time management.

Madeleine is passionate about her goal: helping people succeed at work in a sustainable way that brings balance and congruence across all areas of their lives.
